Bonne, Franz Xavier [Бонн, Франц Ксаверій], b 4 February 1882 in Bruges, Belgium, d 21 November 1941 in South Deerfield, Massachusetts. Belgian, one of the first members of the Redemptorist order, which adopted the Eastern rite in 1911 in Galicia. In 1918 Bonne served as chaplain of the Ukrainian Galician Army. In 1919 he was a member of the Ukrainian delegation that negotiated the Polish-Ukrainian armistice with the Allied powers. In 1919–20 Bonne served as chief of the Ukrainian National Republic’s diplomatic mission at the Vatican (succeeding Mykhailo Tyshkevych). Later he served as a priest of the Ukrainian Catholic church in the United States.
