Holovinsky, Yuliian [Головінський, Юліян; Holovins'kyj, Julijan], b 1 December 1894 in Radymno, Peremyshl county, Galicia, d 30 September 1930 in Bibrka, Lviv county. Political and military activist. A captain in the Ukrainian Galician Army, after the Struggle for Independence (1917–20) he was interned in the internment camps at Josefov and Brno in Czechoslovakia. In the 1920s he was a cofounder and leading member of the Ukrainian Military Organization. He organized the assassination attempt on Polish President S. Wojciechowski in 1924 and the assassination of S. Sobiński in 1926, the attack on the main Post Office in Lviv, and various other acts of sabotage. Imprisoned many times, he was finally captured and executed by the Polish police without a trial.
