Kino [«Кіно»; Cinema]. A monthly magazine published in 1925 and in 1932–3 in Kharkiv and in 1926–32 in Kyiv, first by the All-Ukrainian Photo-Cinema Administration (VUFKU) and then by Ukrainfilm. In 1927, 1929, 1930, and 1932 it came out twice a month. The magazine published articles on the history and theory of cinema, but devoted more space to film actors, film reviews, and the problems of filmmaking in Ukraine and abroad. Its editorial board was chaired by Dmytro Falkivsky, and its main contributors included Mykola Bazhan, Oleksa Vlyzko, Oleksander Dovzhenko, Hryhorii Epik, Myroslav Irchan, Vasyl H. Krychevsky, Oleksander Kopylenko, Valeriian Polishchuk, Heorhii Tasin, Mykola Trublaini, Nikolai Ushakov, and Yurii Yanovsky. Altogether 135 issues appeared. In 1935–8 Kino was replaced by the magazine Radians’ke kino.
