Kyiv vicegerency

Kyiv vicegerency [Ukrainian: Київське намісництво, Kyivske namisnytstvo; Russian: Киевское намесничество, Kievskoe namesnichestvo]. An administrative territory created in September of 1781 following the final abolition of the autonomy of the Hetman state in Left-Bank Ukraine and its regimental system. Its administrative center was Kyiv. In 1797 the vicegerency was abolished, and its territory was divided between Kyiv gubernia and Little Russia gubernia.
