Mochulsky, Mykhailo [Мочульський, Михайло; Močul's'kyj, Myxajlo], b 13 November 1875 in Mykolaiv (Lviv region), Zhydachiv county, Galicia, d 14 February 1940 in Lviv. Literary scholar, literary critic, and translator. Among his works are studies in modern Ukrainian literatureGoshchyns'kyi, Slovats'kyi i Shevchenko, iak spivtsi Koliïvshchyny (Seweryn Goszczyński, Juliusz Słowacki, and Taras Shevchenko, the Bards of the Koliivshchyna rebellion, 1936), Pohruddia z bronzy: Mykola Tsertelev i Ivan Manzhura (Bust in Bronze: Nikolai Tsertelev and Ivan Manzhura, 1938), and a monograph on Ivan Franko (Ivan Franko, 1938)—and studies of the poets of the Ukrainian school in Polish literature. Mochulsky also translated works by Vasyl Stefanyk into Polish and wrote articles on ethnography.
