Nedilia, weekly

Nedilia, weekly («Неділя»; Sunday). A popular illustrated weekly published in Lviv from 1928 to 1939. It carried articles on cultural and literary topics and popular enlightenment. Initially published by Mykola Holubets and R. Holiian, it was bought by the Ukrainian Catholic Union in 1931. In 1930 its circulation was 8,000. Nedilia published a parallel edition for Ukrainians in Volhynia with coverage of events there, Volyns’ka nedilia (ed S. Vyshnivsky), in Lviv (1928–34) and Lutsk (1935–9); a monthly supplement, Svit (1931); books of new Ukrainian prose and poetry, translated literature, and regional studies; and the annual almanac Krynytsia (1934–9). Anatol Kurdydyk contributed regularly to the paper.
