Vatra («Ватра»; Bonfire). A literary miscellany published in Stryi in 1887 and edited by Vasyl Lukych to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko's death and 25 years of Yurii Fedkovych's literary career. Published therein were original contributions and some reprints: stories by Danylo Mordovets, Panas Myrny, Ivan Franko and Volodymyr Luchakovsky; poems by Oleksandra Psol, Oleksander Konysky, Stepan Rudansky, Volodymyr Samiilenko, Panteleimon Kulish, Mykhailo Starytsky, V. Kotsovsky, Uliana Kravchenko, Sydir Vorobkevych, and Fedkovych; biographical sketches by Konysky of Vasyl Hrechulevych, Petro Ohiievsky-Okhotsky, Oleksander Shyshatsky-Illich, Pylyp Morachevsky, Petro Kuzmenko, and Anatolii Svydnytsky; Mordovets's autobiography; articles by Mykhailo Drahomanov (on an old verse about the destruction of Hell by Christ), Oleksander Barvinsky (on the lives and works of Shevchenko and Fedkovych), Mykola Kostomarov (on the destruction of Baturyn), Danylo Lepky (on folk beliefs about domestic animals), Konysky (on archives in Ukraine), Mykola Sumtsov (on Ukrainian surnames), and Lukych (on Hungarian-ruled Ruthenia); book reviews (Omelian Ohonovsky on a novel by Konysky; Franko on Mordovets's writings); and several pages of literary and historical notes by Lukych.
