Vsevolod Sviatoslavych

Vsevolod Sviatoslavych [Svjatoslavyč] (Bui-Tur), b ?, d 17 May 1196. Kyivan Rus’ prince; grandson of Oleh (Mykhailo) Sviatoslavych. He took part in numerous battles against the Cumans, including the campaigns led by his brother, Ihor Sviatoslavych, in 1185 and 1191. His gallantry was celebrated in Slovo o polku Ihorevi (The Tale of Ihor's Campaign), which mentions that he was the prince of Kursk; the Hypatian Chronicle describes him as the ruler of Trubchevsk (or Trubetsk, on the Desna River).
