Arsenii of Elasson

Arsenii of Elasson [Elasons'kyj, Arsenij] (Arsenios), b 1549 in Greece, d 1626. Ecclesiastical figure, teacher. After serving as bishop of Elasson, Arsenii settled in Ukraine, where he was rector of the school of the Lviv Dormition Brotherhood School in the 1580s. Together with his students, Arsenii compiled a Greek-Slavonic grammar entitled Adelphotes (1591). A description of his journey to Muscovy, where he resided from 1588, was published in Paris in 1749.
