Heorhii, Metropolitan [Heorhij], ?–1079. Metropolitan of Kyiv. Of Greek origin, Heorhii arrived in Ukraine around 1062 and became, subsequently, the seventh metropolitan of Kyiv (see Kyiv metropoly). He was the author of a polemical work, Stiazanie s latinoiu (Struggle against the Roman Church).
