Hnivan [Hnivan’]. Map: IV-9. Town smt (2001 pop 12,832) in Tyvriv raion, Vinnytsia oblast, situated on the Boh River. It was first mentioned in 1629. It has large granite quarries, a sugar refinery (est 1877), and concrete plants.
