Hryva, Matvii, b and d? A Zaporozhian Cossack and one of the leaders of the Haidamaka uprisings in Right-Bank Ukraine in the 1730s. Hryva took part in the uprising led by Verlan. In 1734 he led a force of peasants and Zaporozhian Cossacks on Vinnytsia and laid waste to landlords' estates in the region. After the uprising was suppressed, he retreated with his men to the Zaporozhian Sich. In the fall of 1736 Hryva and his haidamakas captured Pavoloch (now in Popilnia raion, Zhytomyr oblast) and Pohrebyshche (now in Vinnytsia oblast). His subsequent fate is unknown.
