Korolenko museums (Muzei V.H. Korolenka). There are two memorial museums in Ukraine dedicated to the Russian writer of Ukrainian-Polish origin Vladimir Korolenko. The museum in Poltava was established in 1928 in a building occupied by Korolenko from 1903 to 1921. Its holdings consist of over 8,000 items—manuscripts, paintings, books, photographs, letters from Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, and personal belongings. Two sections of its exhibition are ‘Korolenko in Ukraine’ and ‘Korolenko and Ukrainian Literature.’ The museum in Zhytomyr was opened in 1973 in the building where Korolenko was born. It houses over 550 exponents, including letters, photographs, and first editions of the author's works.
