Kryster, Arnold [Кристер, Арнольд], b 11 November 1886 in Kyiv, d 24 October 1937 in Kyiv. Lawyer and historian of law. Kryster was a professor at the Kyiv Institute of the National Economy and president of one section of the Commission for the Study of Ukraine's Customary Law and of the Commission of Soviet Law at the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (VUAN). He was also the vice-president of the Society of Ukrainian Jurista. Kryster published several works in the field of customary law, most of them appearing in journals of the VUAN, some of which he also edited. Kryster was arrested by the Soviet authorities in February 1937 and soon executed.
