Maximos [Максим; Maksym], b ?, d 6 December 1305 in Vladimir on the Kliazma River. Greek churchman. The successor to Cyril II, he served as metropolitan of Kyiv and all Rus’ in 1283–1305. He transferred the see of Kyiv metropoly to Vladimir in 1299–1300, thereby prompting demands for the creation of a separate metropoly for the Principality of Galicia-Volhynia (see Halych metropoly).
