Myshkivsky, Yevhen [Мишківський or Мєшковський, Євген; Myškivs'kyj or Mieškovs'kyj, Jevhen], b 12 April 1882 in Kyiv, d 9 July 1920 in Ternopil, Galicia. Senior officer of the Army of the Ukrainian National Republic. A graduate of the General Staff Academy in Saint Petersburg (1912), he served in the Russian army during the First World War and attained the rank of colonel. In 1918 he joined the UNR Army and was assigned to the operations branch of the General Staff of the UNR Army. On 10 December 1918 he became chief of the Supreme Command of the Ukrainian Galician Army; he is credited with preparing its organizational scheme. From February 1919 he served as chief of staff of the Eastern Group of the UNR Army, then of the Volhynian Group, and finally of the UNR Army itself. In 1920 he was appointed general quartermaster on the General Staff of the UNR Army. He was mortally wounded in action against the Bolsheviks near Chornyi Ostriv. He was promoted posthumously to brigadier general.
