Pylypchuk, Vasyl [Пилипчук, Василь; Pylypčuk, Vasyl'], b 5 April 1871 in Mali Hnylychky, Zbarazh county, Ternopil voivodeship, d 17 February 1941 in Liubsha, Zhydachiv county, Galicia. Community leader and beekeeper. After graduating from the Greek Catholic Theological Seminary in Lviv he served as a parish priest. He set up a large, successful apiary, contributed to the monthly Ukraïns’kyi pasichnyk, and wrote Pidruchnyk pasichnytstva (A Handbook on Beekeeping, 1913; 2nd rev edn 1930). He organized local credit unions, dairy co-operatives, and Prosvita reading rooms.
