Salsk [Сальск; Sal'sk]. Map: Rostov-na-Donu oblast, Russian Federation. When it was granted city status in 1926, the census showed that 38.9 percent of its population was Ukrainian. Today Salsk is a railway junction and an industrial center. Its largest plants are a foundry and brick, textile, and footwear factories.
