Savchenko, Kostiantyn [Савченко, Костянтин; Savčenko, Kostjantyn], b 27 December 1910 in Kherson, d 26 November 1956 in Odesa. Astronomer. A graduate of the Kherson Institute of People's Education (1927), he worked at Kharkiv University (1927–40) and Odesa University (from 1944) and specialized in cosmology, cosmogony, and gravitation theory.
