Suslov, Onysym (Суслов, Онисим; real surname: Резніков; Reznikov), b 1857 in Yelysavethrad, Kherson gubernia, d 2 December 1929 in Odesa. Stage and film actor and director. He acted in the troupes of Marko Kropyvnytsky (1888–92), Panas Saksahansky (1892–3), Heorhii Derkach (1893–4), Dmytro Haidamaka (1909–10), and S. Hlazunenko (1910–12) and led his own troupes in 1894–1909 (1894–8 with Oleksii Sukhodolsky) and 1913–14. In 1918–29 he led several workers’ and peasants’ theaters (see Workers' and collective-farm theaters) and taught in the studio at the Odesa Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater. He acted in the films Sumka dypkur’iera (The Diplomatic Pouch, 1927; directed by Oleksandr Dovzhenko) and Prodanyi apetyt (Sold Appetite, 1928).
