Ukraïns’kyi fol’klor [«Український фольклор»; Ukrainian Folklore]. An illustrated popular scientific bimonthly periodical published in Kyiv from 1937 to 1939 by the Institute of Ukrainian Folklore of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR and the Office for the Arts at the Council of People's Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR. It replaced Etnohrafichnyi visnyk, which had been discontinued in 1932. Ten issues appeared, containing articles mostly on ‘Soviet folklore,’ with examples of it and guidelines for creating it and recording it. The first editor was Andrii Khvylia. In 1939 the periodical’s name was changed to Narodna tvorchist’ (which later became Narodna tvorchist’ ta etnohrafiia).
