Association of Independent Ukrainian Artists (Asotsiiatsiia nezalezhnykh ukrainskykh mysttsiv). Association of Western Ukrainian artists of various stylistic tendencies, active in Lviv from 1930 to 1939. It was headed by Mykhailo Osinchuk and Yaroslava Muzyka. The association organized 13 group and individual exhibitions, including an exhibition held in 1931 with the participation of Ukrainian artists from Paris: Mykhailo Andriienko-Nechytailo, Oleksa Hryshchenko, Mykola Hlushchenko, and Vasyl Perebyinis. Emigré artists also took part in exhibitions of graphic art held in Lviv, Prague, Rome, and Berlin. The association published five issues of the journal Mystetstvo (Lviv) under the editorship of Pavlo Kovzhun between 1932 and 1936, as well as monographs on Olena Sakhnovska, M. Andriienko-Nechytailo, Olena Kulchytska, O. Hryshchenko, M. Hlushchenko, and Lev Gets, and the collection Ekslibris (Bookplates). The association was dissolved by the Soviet authorities.
