Khorol River

Khorol River [Хорол; Xorol]. (Map: Khorol River.) A right-bank tributary of the Psol River in Sumy oblast and Poltava oblast. It is 308 km long and drains a basin of 3,870 sq km; it has an average width of 40–80 m, a maximum width of 200 m, and an average depth of 3.5–5 m. It is fed mostly by meltwaters (85 percent). Seven sluices have been built on the river, and it is used for water supply and irrigation.
