Korsun, Oleksander [Корсун, Олександер], b 8 June 1818 in Bogdanovska Antypovka, Rostov county, Don Cossack province, d 6 November 1891 in Bogdanovska Antypovka. Poet and publisher. A graduate of Kharkiv University (1842), he wrote Ukrainskie pover'ia (Ukrainian Mythology, 1839), a collection of popular works of mythology set to verse. In the early 1840s he composed nostalgic poetry of a Romantic nature, some examples of which appeared in Snip, which he edited and published in 1841. His recollections about Mykola Kostomarov were published in Russkii arkhiv in 1890.
