Kyiv Hills [Київські гори; Kyivski hory]. Forming the eastern edge of the Dnipro Upland, the Kyiv Hills near Kyiv reach an elevation of 200 m and descend steeply to the Dnipro River (at 100 m). They are built of Tertiary and Quaternary strata (marls, clays, and sands) that are overlain with loess and dissected by rivers and ravines.
