Lev Yuriiovych

Lev Yuriiovych [Jurijovyč] (Lev II Yuriiovych), b ?, d not later than June 1323. Galician prince; son of Yurii Lvovych. After his father died (in 1308 or, according to other sources, in 1315), Lev ruled the Principality of Galicia-Volhynia together with his older brother, Andrii Yuriiovych. Later he ruled Galicia separately. The brothers' policy was to weaken the principality's vassalage to the Golden Horde by maintaining alliances with the Teutonic Knights and with Poland. The brothers died in battle against the Tatars.
