Odryna, Dmytro [Одрина, Дмитро], b 1892 in Teleshivka, Vasylkiv county, Kyiv gubernia, d 16 November 1919 in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Podilia gubernia. Physician and political leader. After graduating from Kyiv University (1916) he was active in the Ukrainian Party of Socialist Revolutionaries. A member of the Central Rada, he was arrested by the Hetman government for protesting against German atrocities. In January 1919 he was elected vice-chairman of the Labor Congress. As a leading organizer of medical and sanitary services for the military and of the Ukrainian Red Cross, he was invited to join Borys Martos’s cabinet as health minister and deputy premier on 9 June 1919. He directed a vigorous campaign against typhus, of which he himself became a victim.
