Prapor marksyzmu-leninizmu

Prapor marksyzmu-leninizmu [«Прапор марксизму-ленінізму»; Flag of Marxism-Leninism]. The first Ukrainian philosophical journal, published from 1927 in Kharkiv by the Ukrainian Institute of Marxism-Leninism and then by the All-Ukrainian Association of Marxist-Leninist Scientific Research Institutes (VUAMLIN). Until the end of 1930 (nos 1–14) it was called Prapor marksyzmu. Then it was renamed Prapor marksyzmu-leninizmu (1931–3, 14 issues). In 1934 the journal was merged with Ekonomist-marksyst and renamed Pid markso-lenins’kym praporom (Under the Marxist-Leninist Flag, 14 issues, 1934–6). In 1935–6 it was published in Kyiv. The journal served as a vehicle for the development of Marxist-Leninist thought, and published articles on the history and relation of Marxist-Leninist thought to current developments in science, literature, art, and social life. Its editorial board included Mykola Skrypnyk, Nikolai N. Popov, Volodymyr Yurynets, Matvii Yavorsky, and Yurii Mazurenko. After M. Skrypnyk’s suicide in 1933, the journal was denounced by Stalinist critics, and all members of its editorial board suffered political persecution.
