Meta (Munich)

Meta (Munich) («Мета»; Goal). A newspaper published by the Ukrainian Information Bureau in Munich (1952–82) and Philadelphia (after 1982). A monthly from the 1970s, it contained news and analyses of developments in Ukraine and in the Ukrainian émigré community, documents, memoirs, and articles on historical topics, particularly the struggle for Ukrainian independence. It was the organ of the Ukrainian National State Union, and from 1972 it was the semiofficial organ of the Ukrainian National Council. Among its editors have been Mykola Shramenko, L. Vasyliv, and V. Biliaiv.
