Donetsk Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater [Донецький академічний український музично-драматичний театр; Donetskyi akademichnyi ukrainskyi muzychno-dramatychnyi teatr]. A drama theater in Donetsk. Established in 1933 as Staline Ukrainian Drama Theater on the basis of the staff of the disbanded Kharkiv Chervonozavodskyi Ukrainian Drama Theater by theater directors Vasyl Vasylko and Oleksander Zaharov. The original troupe included many of the former Berezil actors, including Vasylko, Liubov Hakkebush, and others. Reestablished in 1944, the theater continued its standard repertoire of world, Ukrainian, Russian, and Soviet classics. In 2001 it was granted the academic theater status.
