Heorhii of Zarub

Heorhii of Zarub [Георгій Зарубський; Heorhij Zarubs'kyj]. A monk at the Zarub monastery, which was located near present-day Zarubyntsi landmark, Kaniv raion, Cherkasy oblast. He is the author of an ‘Instruction for Spiritual Offspring,’ written probably in the late 12th or early 13th century, in which he rejects worldly pleasures, particularly entertainment by skomorokhy and musicians.
