Liubystok, Hryhorii

Liubystok, Hryhorii [Любисток, Григорій; Ljubystok, Hryhorij], b and d ? Banduryst. From 1730 he served as musician at the court of Elizabeth I in Saint Petersburg. He attempted an escape to Ukraine in 1731 but was unsuccessful. In 1749 he was ennobled and granted the rank of colonel. He received an estate near Lubny, where he lived for the rest of his life. Liubystok was also active in the effort to restore the office of the hetman, which was filled by Kyrylo Rozumovsky in 1750.
