Los, Fedir

Los, Fedir [Лось, Федір; Los'], b 19 June 1908 in Pivnivshchyna, Horodnia county, Chernihiv gubernia, d 21 July 1980 in Kyiv. Historian. He lectured at higher educational institutions (1931–5) and at Kyiv University (1949–65, as professor from 1954) and worked at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (1935–79, as assistant director in 1948–58). His works deal with the Stolypin agrarian reforms, the Revolution of 1905 (1955), and the history of the working class (1955, 1962) in Ukraine; he also authored secondary-school history textbooks.
