Masovyi teatr

Masovyi teatr («Масовий театр»; Mass Theater). A monthly illustrated sociopolitical arts journal. In 1926–31 it was published as Sil's'kyi teatr by the Kharkiv municipal art department of the Administration of Political Education of the Ukrainian SSR. It contained one-act plays, adaptations, reviews of performances of professional and amateur theaters, and instructions for amateur theater groups, and organized repertory competitions in villages. In 1929–31 another illustrated journal, Radians'kyi teatr, was published in Kharkiv by the arts administration of the People's Commissariat of Education of the Ukrainian SSR. It contained theoretical, practical, and historical analyses of theater arts. In 1931–3 the Kharkiv People's Commissariat of Education and the Central Committee of the Komsomol of the Ukrainian SSR together published Masovyi teatr.
