Nenadkevych, Yevhen

Nenadkevych, Yevhen [Ненадкевич, Євген; Nenadkevyč, Jevhen], b 29 December 1882 in Dovhalivka, Dubno county, Volhynia gubernia, d 30 September 1966 in Zhytomyr. Literary scholar and pedagogue. A professor at the Zhytomyr (1920–9) and Nizhyn (1930–3) institutes of people's education, he was arrested in 1933 and exiled. He worked at the Mordovian and Perm pedagogical institutes until his return to Zhytomyr in 1947. He wrote studies of the works of Vasyl Stefanyk, Ivan Franko, Lesia Ukrainka, and Taras Shevchenko, including Tvorchist' T. Shevchenka pislia zaslannia, 1857–8 (The Post-Exile Works of T. Shevchenko, 1857–8, 1956) and Z tvorchoï laboratoriï T. Shevchenka (From the Creative Laboratory of T. Shevchenko, 1959).
