Olkhivsky, Borys

Olkhivsky, Borys [Ольхівський, Борис; Ol'xivs'kyj], b 11 August 1906 in Shchytnyky, Brest county, Hrodna gubernia, d June 1944 in Sagan, Germany. Journalist and writer. From 1931 he lived in Warsaw. He coedited and contributed to several literary journals and cultural journals, including Nazustrich; My, which he edited in 1939; and Nashi dni. He also edited a page for young people in the Paris journal Tryzub. He was one of the founders of the Variah publishing house. Olkhivsky wrote the book Vol'nyi narid (A Free People, 1937) and articles and essays about Polisia and the Kholm region.
