Petrov, Aleksei Z.

Petrov, Aleksei Z. [Петров, Алексей], b 28 October 1910 in Koshki, Samara gubernia, Russia, d 9 May 1972 in Kyiv. Theoretical physicist; full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR from 1969. He graduated from Kazan University in 1937 and worked there in 1943–69. He became head of a section of the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR in 1970. His research dealt primarily with the theory of gravitational fields and gravitational radiation.
