Scientific Research Institute of Pedagogy of Ukraine

Scientific Research Institute of Pedagogy of Ukraine (Науково-дослідний інститут педагогіки України; Naukovo-doslidnyi instytut pedahohiky Ukrainy). A research institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. Founded in Kharkiv in 1926 as the Ukrainian Scientific Research Insitute of Pedagogy, it opened a branch in Kyiv in 1930 and was moved there in 1934. From 1955 to 1991 it was called the Scientific Research Institute of Pedagogy of the Ukrainian SSR. The institute has 17 departments. It initiates and co-ordinates research in the field of pedagogy and is the leading center of pedagogical training in Ukraine. Since 1963 it has published nine periodic compendiums, among them Pedahohika, Doshkil'na pedahohika i psykholohiia, and Metodyka ukraïns'koï movy i literatury.
