Torzecki, Ryszard

Torzecki, Ryszard, b 20 March 1925 in Łódź, Poland, d 20 August 2003 in Konstancin, Poland. Polish historian. A graduate of Warsaw University (PH D, 1970), after 1971 he worked at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He wrote on the Ukrainian problem in the policies of Nazi Germany in 1939–45 (PH D dissertation; published 1972) and the Ukrainian question in Poland in 1923–9 (habilitation dissertation, 1983; published 1989), as well as on the history of Western Ukraine and Ukrainian-Polish relations in the years 1918–45.
