Ukrainian Communist Youth Association

Ukrainian Communist Youth Association (Українська комуністична юнацька спілка; Ukrainska komunistychna yunatska spilka, or Українська комуністична робітнича юнацька спілка; Ukrainska komunistychna robitnycha yunatska spilka). The youth organization allied with the Ukrainian Communist party. It was founded in 1920 by some former members of the Communist Youth Association and by the Independent Social Democratic Youth Association. The new association was based in Kharkiv, and its leading members were Ya. Chmil and P. Syniavsky. The association competed with the Communist Youth League of Ukraine, which was allied with the Communist Party (Bolshevik) of Ukraine for several years. In 1925 it was absorbed by the league.
