Ukrainskii sbornik

Ukrainskii sbornik («Украинскій сборникъ»; Ukrainian Collection). The earliest Ukrainian literary periodical, published in Kharkiv by Izmail Sreznevsky. The first issue (1838, 88 pp) consisted of Sreznevsky’s preface and postscript, Ivan Kotliarevsky’s drama Natalka Poltavka (Natalka from Poltava), and a short dictionary. The second (1841, 46 pp) consisted of Kotliarevsky’s play Moskal'-charivnyk (The Soldier-Sorcerer).
