Varchenko, Vasyl

Varchenko, Vasyl [Варченко, Василь; Varčenko, Vasyl'], b ?, d 1770 in Kodnia near Zhytomyr. Banduryst. He took part in the Koliivshchyna rebellion in 1768. He joined Remeza’s detachment and with his songs encouraged the haidamakas to battle. He was executed by the Poles in Kodnia.
