Zahorovsky, Oleksander

Zahorovsky, Oleksander [Загоровський, Олександер; Zahorovs'kyj], b 1 January 1850 in Kyiv gubernia, d 23 July 1919 in Odesa. Law historian. A graduate of Kyiv University (1871), he served as a professor at Kharkiv University (1880–92) and Odesa University (1892–1919). The most important of his works are Istoricheskii ocherk zaima po russkomu pravu do kontsa 13 st. (Historical Survey of Credit According to Russian Law to the End of the 13th Century, 1875), O razvode po russkomu pravu (On Divorce According to Russian Law, 1884), and Kurs semeinogo prava (A Course in Family Law, 1902; 2nd edn 1909).
