Zarnytska, Yefrosyniia

Zarnytska, Yefrosyniia or Zinaida [Зарницька, Єфросинія Зінаїда; Zarnyc'ka, Jefrosynija Zinajida; real surname: Ажуріді; Azhuridi], b 16 February 1867 in Odesa, d 30 June 1936 in Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv oblast. Stage actress and singer (soprano). She completed musical school in Odesa (1886) and then acted in the troupes of Marko Kropyvnytsky (1888–93), Onysym Suslov and Oleksii Sukhodolsky (1894–8), Suslov again (1898–1909), and B. Orshanov (1909–14) and in the Petrograd Ukrainian Drama Theater (1919–24) and the Kharkiv Chervonozavodskyi Ukrainian Drama Theater (1927–30). As a singer she performed in ethnographical plays as well as in classical operettas.
