Zhvanchyk River [Жванчик; Žvančyk]. (Map: Zhvanchyk River.) A left-bank tributary of the Dnister River that flows southward for 107 km in Khmelnytskyi oblast and drains a basin area of 769 sq km. The river is 3–5 m wide in its upper course and eventually widens to 10–35 m. It has a drop of 1.9 m/km, with several areas of rapids and waterfalls. Its waters are harnessed for electricity and used for pisciculture.
