Zolochiv, Kharkiv oblast [Zoločiv]. Map: III-16 A town smt (2001 pop 11,591) on the Udy River and a raion center in Kharkiv oblast. It was founded in 1677 by Cossacks from Right-Bank Ukraine, and became a company center in Kharkiv regiment in 1685. In 1780 it became a county center in Kharkiv vicegerency. Today the town is an agricultural center with a railway station, a grain elevator, and several food-processing enterprises.
