Buhaievsky-Blahodarny, Ivan [Buhajevs'kyj-Blahodarnyj], b 9 September 1773 in Kyiv, d 1859. (Portrait: Ivan Buhaievsky-Blahorodny.) Painter, student of Volodymyr Borovykovsky and Dmytro H. Levytsky, graduate of the Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts. Buhaievsky-Blahodarny was an outstanding portraitist. Among his works are a portrait of Volodymyr Borovykovsky (Portrait of Volodymyr Borovykovsky)and the icons of the Smolensk Monastery, the Synodal Church in Saint Petersburg, and the Kronstadt Cathedral.
