Rava Brigade of the Ukrainian Galician Army

Rava Brigade of the Ukrainian Galician Army (Ravska [6] brygada UHA). A unit of the First Corps of the Ukrainian Galician Army, formed in January 1919 from units of the Rava-Ruska Group. It consisted of three infantry battalions, an artillery regiment, and a cavalry troop and had a total strength of approximately 2,800 men. Its commanders were Capt Volodymyr Stafiniak and, later, Capt Yuliian Holovinsky. The brigade distinguished itself during the Chortkiv offensive in June 1919 and in battles for Kyiv in August 1919. In February 1920 it was reorganized into the Sixth Regiment of the Red Ukrainian Galician Army. After separating from the Red Army, the regiment was disarmed, and its members were imprisoned by the Poles.
