Adam von Bremen

Adam von Bremen, ?–1081. North German chronicler, author of the chronicle Gesta Hamburgiensis ecclesiae pontificum. The Gesta is a rich source of information about the Scandinavian countries and the Western Slavs; Kyiv is mentioned as a rival of Byzantium.
