All-Ukrainian Higher Holy Council

All-Ukrainian Higher Holy Council [Всеукраїнська Вища Освяченна Рада; Vseukrainska Vyshcha Osviashchenna Rada]. Formed after the government of the Ukrainian National Republic ratified the law on the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Orthodox church (1 January 1919), the council briefly guided the activities of the revived Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox church. Its members included the archbishop of Katerynoslav, Ahapyt Vyshnevsky; the bishop of Kremianets, Dionisii Valedinsky; Archpriest Vasyl Lypkivsky; and other church leaders.
